REACHOUT VILLAGE MINISTRIES
Reaching out and giving hope to the less privileged
ReachOut Village Ministries - now Registered as a Non-Profit in USA on status of 501-C-3 is a non profit organization reaching out and giving hope to the less privileged children, with an ambition of covering all parts of Uganda. It was founded by Pastor Daniel B. Nkata and Mrs. Margaret Julian Nkata in 1987 to take care of the less privileged and the needy, many of whom were orphaned due to the 1980-1986 Uganda Liberation war and HIV/AIDS.
ReachOut Village Ministries is founded on the Lord's commission 'Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and so, I am with you always even unto the end of the world’. Amen
The 1980-86 Uganda liberation war left many children orphaned, whose parents/guardians were claimed by the war while many others succumbed to HIV/AIDS and natural causes. To fill this void, Pastor Daniel B. Nkata and Mrs. Julian Nkata founded this organization to counter the challenges brought about by this period. ReachOut provides shelter, clothing, water, security, education, food, moral and spiritual nourishment to the children.
It is a non profit organisation with an ambition to cover all parts of Uganda with emphasis to the rural countryside and provide spiritual, physical and social needs of the people in concern.
ReachOut Village Ministries has setup projects such as schools (ReachOut Primary School & ReachOut Secondary School - Sokolo), children homes, farm lands, churches and water projects as primary objectives in aid of the persons concerned.
PROJECTS
<>ReachOut Primary School
Established in 1988 by Pastor Daniel B. Nkata in Munyonyo - Gaba, there was need of a Christian themed school in the area to ease access to education of the children who walked long distances to government funded schools. It started with 8 students, 2 teachers and 2 classrooms and in two years, the student population had grown to about two hundred students.
The school now has a population of 500 pupils of which 200 commutes from the community around the school and 300 are boarding. Most of these children do not have parents, guardians, relatives and come from various villages of Mukono, Wakiso, Masaka, Butalejja and Ssese Islands. in Uganda. There are over 15 teaching staff, 5 supporting staff and 4 administrators who ensure the wellbeing of our children at the school.
The school core objective is to ensure that all children obtain a good education, moral and spiritual guidance so that they can attain a meaningful and spiritual way of life to proper fulfillment.
Another objective is emphasis on training in hands-on skills like carpentry, sewing, sports and games, music, dance and drama and computer literacy to enable them to become self-reliant and supportive. ReachOut Primary School has excelled in education, sports & games, music, dance and drama.

Started in 2000 by Pastor and Mrs. Daniel B. Nkata, the farm was established to cut down on the food costs and expenses. The farm is neighboured by the villages of Kasanje, Jungo and Katende.
With an established farm and a church in the area, Pastor and Mrs. Nkata embraced a calling to setup a Christian based farm in the community with special emphasis towards providing jobs to the community.
The farm produce at Sokolo is used to subsidize on the balanced diet of the children residing in the Kampala children’s home. The farm grows bananas, Oranges, mangoes, pineapples, guavas, papayas, potatoes, Cassava (Yuka) and vegetables. We also do animal husbandry which include pigs, goats, cows and sheep.
The Sokolo area faced a challenge of clean water supply and electricity. With all honor we want to appreciate our friends from Wisconsin, United States for helping in the installation of solar panels and digging two bore holes to supply clean water to both the students and the community.
We are also blessed to have a tractor on the farm that eases with the ploughing and tilling the land while preparing to cultivate.
Where clean running water and electricity was a luxury, God is truly a miracle in Sokolo Village. In the past the rainy seasons, people shared water sources with animals in shallow dug wells, streams and ponds. This water is dirty and unsafe for domestic use and as such the risk of dysentery, diarrhea, cholera, skin infections and typhoid fever is always eminent.
These water sources dry up during the drought season leaving drilled boreholes, water wells or permanent large river tributaries and lakes that are very distant from Sokolo as the only available water sources. People had to leave their homes early morning to travel long distances in search of clean water. Currently with the help of friends in United States, Reachout Village Ministries commissioned a well in Kampala and two in Sokolo Village.
However there is still immediate need for maintenance and repairs to supply clean water particularly in the dry season but also in the rain season as a dependent source of clean and safe water. More sustainable solutions under consideration include construction of new bore holes and sourcing of solar powered pumps for the water wells to increase water production and expand uses to agricultural projects like irrigation on farm lands and water for the animals.
We warmly appreciate the efforts of friends in Wiscousin, together with other friends in the United States for helping in installation of solar panels and drilling two bore holes to supply clean water to both the students and the community.

BUVVU ISLANDS CHURCH SUPPORT
We thank our donors and partners for the support in establishing a new church on Buvvu Islands in Lake Victoria. We now have a shelter that accommodates up to 100 people and yet support is still required to accomplish the project. We need cement for the church floor and four windows at the cost of $3000. Pastors accommodation whose construction is in progress also requires about $5000.
Many children got saved during our reachout yet there is no school on this Island except an Islamic centre which only teaches islam. This urgently necessitates constructing 5 class rooms at a cost of $6000. God bless you as you stand with us.
